A place for

everyone...

In open countryside, near the sea, near cities of Art

Icon Italy

The Agriturismo is located at the beginning of a vast natural site consisting mainly of the Mezzano Valley, drained and reclaimed in the late 1960s, and some contiguous natural areas such as the Bando basin, the Anse di S. Camillo, the Vallette of Ostellato and the Umana Valley Basins. The whole of these areas is sparsely urbanised and is characterised by large plots that host various crops, ranging from arable land to nursery plants. In the 1990s the site was the subject of an agro-environmental program aimed at creating environments for wild fauna and flora, for this reason ponds, wetlands and shrub meadows were restored.

Icon Italy

For history and art lovers we recommend visits to the art cities of Ferrara and Ravenna and to the Verginese Castle, an ancient summer residence of the Este Dukes located in Gambulaga, a small town a few kilometres from Portomaggiore. The delight of Verginese was recognised as a 'World Heritage Site' by Unesco in 1999 thanks to its important characteristics of a typically Renaissance landscape of the Po Delta.

For lovers of Ancient Etruscan and Roman Culture

Icon Italy

Not everyone knows it, but our valleys and the Po Delta were the lands in which the Ancient City of Spina developed and prospered. The search for the city of Spina among the swamps of the delta was a real thriller that for centuries fascinated illustrious scholars, and which over the years has led to the discovery of numerous and priceless finds that testify to the history and splendour of this mysterious Etruscan civilisation. The National Archaeological Museum of Ferrara is an unmissable stop for all those who wish to know more about Spina and the mythical lands of the Golden Spider ...

Our areas also boast a Roman past. In Voghenza, a hamlet of Portomaggiore, a large sepulchral area was found whose origins can be dated between the 1st and 3rd centuries AD, the Roman Necropolis of Voghenza. The finds are now on display at the Belriguardo Civic Museum. In Comacchio, a ship destined for river trade dating back to the Roman imperial period was found complete with cargo which over the centuries has remained almost intact. The contents of the cargo and part of the ship are kept in the Museum of the Roman Ship in Comacchio.
